From December 8, the Nativity Exhibition returns to Grottaglie with a 44th edition between tradition and innovation
The magic of the Nativity Exhibition in Grottaglie in the province of Taranto is rekindled.
The exhibition competition crosses the finish line of its 44th edition.
Nativity, enchantment, family and ceramic art. Once again this year the historic "Nativity Exhibition" of Grottaglie (TA) celebrates its 44th edition in the magical Christmas setting of the Ceramics Quarter and its workshops.
The artistic-cultural kermesse will kick off on December 8 and will be open until January 8, 2024 in the halls of the 14th-century Episcopio Castle, allowing the many fans to admire the extraordinary ceramic nativity scenes from different Italian regions.
Lots of tradition but also lots of innovation - in shapes, sizes and colors - in respect of a deep popular religiosity. The Nativity Exhibition, organized by the Municipality of Grottaglie, is aimed, in particular, at the enhancement of historical testimonies of nativity art.
Established in 1980 as a testament to the ancient local tradition, it has attracted numerous masters of national and international stature, whose works are now preserved in the nativity scene section of the city's Ceramic Museum. Rotating around the crib exhibition will be guided tours, thematic itineraries and a rich program of musical and entertainment events.
The exhibition will also be an opportunity to visit the Ceramics Quarter-a unique place where, in the more than 60 artisan workshops, people will be able to view and purchase wonderful handcrafted cribs, Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and many exclusive gift ideas all made strictly of ceramics.
