FLORENCE - Registration is now open for exhibitors at the 88th edition of MIDA, the International Handicrafts Exhibition to be held April 25-May 1, 2024, at the Fortezza da Basso.
The International Handicrafts Exhibition, a fixed and unmissable appointment for many Florentines and tourists visiting the city, has been transforming Florence into the capital of arts and crafts since 1931, creating a meeting place for different cultures with a route that allows visitors to explore the "savoir faire" of Italian regions and countries around the world.
In fact, MIDA, the first certified international craft fair in Italy, hosts each year Italian and foreign masters and new talents, organizing events, installations and educational workshops, in the magnificent 16th-century setting of the Fortezza da Basso, a Renaissance architectural masterpiece built between 1534 and 1537 by order of Alessandro de' Medici, where cultural heritage and innovation give life to unique creations and experiences.
MIDA 2024 is organized by Firenze Fiera in collaboration with the main Craftsmen's Associations CNA and Confartigianato, together with Artex - Center for Artistic and Traditional Craftsmanship of Tuscany and OMA - Osservatorio Mestieri d'Arte.
Exhibiting at the Mostra dell'Artigianato in Florence means being able to participate in an exhibition with high visibility, with a selected audience, the chance to sell one's products and creations in a place where to make contacts and build sales opportunities.
A unique opportunity for artisans, creatives, designers, designers, young makers and quality entrepreneurs from Italy and abroad who will be able to meet with an increasingly large and selected audience made up of individuals and retailers who are looking for beauty and high quality every year.

In the past edition, the 34,000 square meters of exhibition area, saw the participation of 28 foreign countries with 450 exhibitors including craft enterprises, designers, planners and young makers who attracted more than 65,000 visitors in the 7 days of the exhibition with a social network presence of 78,100 followers on FB and 14,600 followers on IG.

Alongside craftsmanship, since 2022, MIDA has hosted: the preview of the prestigious Restoration Exhibition, UP TO THE CRAFT - Generative Paths, an exhibition promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze and curated by OMA - Osservatorio dei Mestieri d'Arte with University of Florence, Department of Architecture and LE ARTI ORAFE dedicated to training and goldsmithing techniques applied to jewelry and clothing made by students of LAO - Le Arti Orafe School.
