Located in the province of Milan, the Art.Intaglio company was founded in 1964 and with its production of stylish complements continues this tradition by providing a luxury product and 100% Made in Italy quality.
Today the family business is ran by Riccardo, the founder’s son, who in 2009 took over the business. His passion for carving wood was born from an early age, when he passed the afternoons in the lab with his father who taught him tricks and secrets of this ancient art. For his creations Riccardo is inspired by and follows much the market trend, always viewing very carefully trade shows and confronting with clients and colleagues in order to understand the demands of the market. The inspiration comes often from already made products in order to create new or extravagant ideas, which Richard creates even before the sale, for his very home.
For a perfect product, every stage of the working process is followed with care and diligence in the details. Art.Intaglio produces unique, but also mass production pieces, starting from slating the timber, to the semi-finished or finished product, depending on the customer’s request. The use of materials, always top quality, means that the product obtains even more value and importance over time, giving a touch of style and of the worldwide known Italian craftsmanship.
Creative ideas and new projects are the future of this workshop which wants to expand in foreign markets, where the woodcarving and craftsmanship are appreciated. The works, created with the passion for wood are a source of life, love and warmth, interpreting with quality products the love for one’s past and origins. Craft production, currently is primarily oriented to furnishing accessories, as tables’ foundations, columns, vases, clocks, Baroque mirrors, statues, furnishings and various objects for the home, for a total production that is approximately 150 products.
In recent years the Italian market has undergone a drastic change with regard to the manual carving of wood, no longer appreciated as twenty years ago, where 80% of the production was for the domestic market. In contrast to this situation, the strategy developed by Art.Intaglio has been to increase the network of dealers and contractors who are able to reach an international audience and start using professional tools and web portals such as www.madeinitalyfor.me to promote and sell worldwide, seeking attention particularly in Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, India, China and the US, where the Made in Italy carving of is much appreciated and requested.
In addition to his classic works of carving and sculpture, Riccardo is embarking in the latest modern and peculiar designs. A line of mirrors, the first version of which has recently been released, Beverly Lux, in the form of round glasses is being produced inspired by famous brands of glasses.
