Microstudio is a self-produced design brand that originated in 2011, in Pescara, from an idea of the young architect Fabrizio Susi. A project that started out as an architecture and design studio that in recent years has focused mainly on the latter, giving life to different and very interesting design objects, intended for multiple product sectors.
The initial idea, conceived as a real startup, involves the architect Claudio Pierfederici and the architect Stefania Rendine. It plans to bring totally Made in Italy design objects to the market, with the collaboration of companies and artisan workshops from Abruzzo and Marche regions.
In 2014, the Microstudio brand was chosen by Ray Ban to design and create a series of gadgets to give to guests at the presentation of the new eyewear line in New York.
The strengths of the brand are certainly the precision and attention to detail, the cutting-edge technologies used and the use of minimalist, simple and linear shapes that offer Microstudio articles a young and modern imprint.
The main materials used are wood, steel, Plexiglas, cardboard, polystyrene, cork and concrete. The quality of these materials blends to create not only furnishing accessories but also objects for Christmas.
The lines of the brand, defined as youthful, original and very creative, are created to be proposed to stores and sold at retail in Italy and online. But since they are smart people, their creations have also arrived in America!
Among the most particular collections, we find the Viceversa series, consisting of three models of coffee tables of different sizes, designed to adapt to various environments. The distinctive feature of the creations that make up this collection are the legs mounted one opposite the other, vice versa precisely, and which gives life to a game of movements, lines and perceptions.
The tables are made entirely by hand, except for the shaping of the parts, made with numerical control cutting. Each model is characterized by a particular colour: the rectangular coffee table is yellow, the square one is military green and the triangular one is blue.
Moreover, you can find different design objects such as Parola, a bedroom coat hanger equipped with a blackboard that allows you to leave messages or a reminder;
and the Uii Lamp, made through 3d printing, completely customized. Additionally, thanks to the 3-meter wire it is provided with, it is possible to move it freely and decide whether to place it on a piece of furniture or whether to fix it to the wall thanks to the practical magnetic system sold separately.
All products are the result of a common and shared idea: to buy design products, there is no need to spend a fortune. In fact, what Microstudio realizes can be purchased starting from a few tens of euros, and this is precisely their strength.
