From the Textile Museum for sustainable textiles and fashion: two new opportunities for eco-sustainable and circular businesses and start-ups through the European Stand Up project

Exactly one year after the debut of the first part of the activity path to support young entrepreneurs in the textile and fashion sector, the Prato Textile Museum confirms and strengthens its commitment through the launch of two new tenders for the offer of training and market opportunities aimed at sustainable and circular companies and start-ups.

Conceived as part of the European STAND Up! Project, funded through the ENI CBC Med Program, the path is implemented simultaneously in the five partner territories of the project (Italy, Spain, Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia) and aims to encourage in Tuscany and in other Italian regions involved in the ENI CBC Med Program (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily), the development of new business initiatives that can contribute to an innovative, ecologically and socially responsible model.

The first of the new opportunities made available starting from February 2022 (Access To Finance) is a call for proposals aimed at specialized training to increase the financial competence of companies and improve knowledge for accessing and raising finance and funds useful for the development of activities, with the possibility of attracting local, national and European level investors.

The Textile Museum will select 10 young eco innovators and independent entrepreneurs with at least one product or service in the initial or development phase in the fashion and textile sectors, who will take part in a calendar of 10 theoretical sessions in group workshop and individual coaching mode and 2 technical pitches organized to provide feedback on planned investments and to receive local and national visibility with potential investors.

Conducted by high-profile professional trainers, the theoretical sessions will allow selected entrepreneurs to acquire the commercial and technical skills necessary to develop the financial models of their businesses, taking advantage of the available financing opportunities, while the double appointment of events will give the opportunity to present their business ideas to potential investors and experts identified on the basis of the characteristics of the participating projects / companies.

With the launch of the second open call (Soft Landing Vouchers), the Museum promotes a system of grants for transnational mobility that aims to provide young eco-sustainable and circular companies with the opportunity to access markets in the Mediterranean area and explore new commercial opportunities. and partnerships.

Through the selection of 4 companies present on the market in the initial or development phase (start up), four vouchers worth approximately 4,000 euros each will be allocated, which will be used to implement the actions and opportunities necessary for access to the territory identified by the start. up during the participation in the call.

The selected companies will be combined with a Hosting Organization active in the indicated area, in charge of coordinating the activities and services on site as well as assisting entrepreneurs in promoting the exchange with experts and professionals in the reference business, establishing a local commercial presence by suggesting any partnership opportunities and facilitating participation in sector events and fairs.

The selections of the participants: criteria and priorities.

The opportunities offered are addressed to companies / start-ups active in Tuscany and in the 8 regions involved in the ENI-CBC Med Program (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily).

The selection criteria for both calls will take into account, in addition to the initial or growth state of the company in the textile and clothing industry, the rate of innovation and environmental and social sustainability of the start-up, the circular approach of the product or service. proposed as well as the economic sustainability of the proposal and the presence of a clear company business plan.

In compliance with the indications of the ENI CBC Med Program and the objectives of the STAND Up! Project, both calls guarantee, during the selection phase, priority to young people under 35 years of age and to companies / start-ups developed by women without age limits. and to entrepreneurs already involved in the previous phases of the STAND Up! (Training for the development of a Green Business Model and the Incubation and development phase of the Green Business Plan).

    The Call for Access to Finance and Investments (Access To Finance) is open until March 21st.
