From April 25 to May 1, 2025, Florence’s Fortezza da Basso becomes a global hub of creativity, craftsmanship, and culture with the 89th edition of MIDA – the International Handicrafts Trade Fair.

With over 530 exhibitors from Italy and more than 30 countries, MIDA invites you on a journey through traditions, innovations, and artistic expressions from around the globe.
What to Expect at MIDA 89
This year's edition embraces values such as quality, sustainability, inclusion, innovation, and heritage. It’s not just a fair — it’s a vibrant celebration of human creativity and cultural diversity.

Highlights of the Exhibition
- CON.TE.NE.RE – From Object to Body (Sala della Volta): An artistic and symbolic exploration of containers and containment, curated by OMA and ADI Toscana.
- Galleria dell’Artigianato – The Essence of Making (Cavaniglia Pavilion): Featuring works by Tuscan artisans using wood, silver, ceramics, glass, and more; curated by ARTEX - Center for Artistic and Traditional Craftsmanship of Tuscany.
- At Cavaniglia it will also be possible to admire the creations of four goldsmith designers and two perfume start-ups from the United Arab Emirates who will participate in visits and workshops in Florence's workshops.
- Preziosa Young (LAO Area): Jewelry by young designers blending traditional techniques and experimental design.
- Artefacendo (Ghiaie Pavilion): Over 70 Italian artisans showcasing fashion, woodwork, alabaster, and fine goldsmithing — with live demos every day.
- Fragmenta & In Conversazione (Corridoio dell’Arco): Contemporary jewelry as visual storytelling and creative dialogue between generations.
- Pezzi Unici (Palazzina Lorenese): Unique, one-of-a-kind pieces by Florentine artisans — from hand-bound journals to custom furniture.
