The Kaleidos cooperative was born in Lecce, Puglia, in 2004 from the union of several professional craftsmen who wanted to combine their skills to create an activity aimed at the restoration of artistic movable assets, through an interdisciplinary and multisectoral approach.
This activity and with this philosophy, was soon accompanied by the conception, design and construction of furnishings, furnishing accessories and objects of artistic craftsmanship, characterized by particular attention to the combination of tradition and territoriality, environment and innovation. . An attention that takes the form of a close bond for one's origins as well as the use of local and selected raw materials from a green perspective, creating unique works and reinterpreting old objects and furnishings or parts of them, to which a new one is given life.
A philological-conservative approach that distinguishes all their works, the result of years of study and experimentation and aimed at realizing the fantasies and desires of their customers, to whom they have always offered complete availability and continuous assistance, accompanying them in unique tailor-made projects of great workmanship and elegance.
Among the Home-decor creations proposed by Kaleidos for home furnishings, the line of small masterpieces in hand-carved Lecce stone stands out, consisting of lamps, wall lights, tables, furnishing accessories and artistic sculptures, made by the master Gabriele Pici , a young craftsman and artist from Salento with more than 20 years of experience in working with Lecce stone, capable of enhancing spaces with plays of light and creating warm and enveloping atmospheres.
"The Lecce stone, due to its characteristics of porosity and ductility, allows me to give life to unique and sinuous shapes, starting from a simple block of stone and an idea. My hands become one with the single block that I model using only rasps, chisels, hammers and other craft tools. Each sculpture is a challenge between matter and fragility, between the static nature of the stone and its dynamic potential, in order to give new life and humanity to a material already sculpted by nature, the source of my inspiration ”- Gabriele Pici.
